I Teaching aims:
Knowledge aims:
Students can pronounce and understand the words of the four seasons “spring, summer, autumn, winter” and about weather “warm, hot, cool, cold”.
Ability aims:
Students are able to understand the story time correctly and retell it according to some clues.
Students can use the target language to talk about the climatic characteristics and different activities in different seasons.
Emotional aim:
Students can improve the confidence of learning English and cultivate their love of the nature.

Key point: some new words about seasons and weather, such as: spring, summer, autumn, winter, warm, hot.
Difficult point: How to use them into daily life to talk about the season.

IV Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Warming-up
1.Daily greeting.
Talk about the weather today with students.
2.Sing a song
Let students enjoy a beautiful song and guess the name of this song. “Four seasons?”
Ask them two questions “How many seasons are there in a year?” “Which season is it now?”
Step 2 Presentation and practice
1. Watch, read and match
Let students watch a cartoon and tell what it is about. Then ask them to read the passage and underline the four seasons. Show some pictures about four seasons and let students do a match with the four words in order to have a better understanding about the new words.
2. Read and fill in the chart
Read the passage more carefully and try to answer two questions:
(1) What’s the weather in each season?
(2) What do they do in different seasons?
Then fill in the chart on the blackboard about the weather and activities. At the same time, teach students the words “hot, warm, cool, cold” according to the pictures.
3. Listen to the tape and repeat the story.
Step 3 Production
1. Four people are in a group, then try to retell the passage based on the pictures in the screen and chart on the blackboard. Then invite some group to do this work in front of the whole class.
2. Play a guessing game. Ask some students to stand up and describe a season in some respects (weather, color, clothes, activities), but not the answer. Other students try to guess the final answer.
Step 4 Summary and homework
Summary: Invite one of the students to review what we have learned and others make a supplement together.
Homework: Ask students to draw a picture about their favorite season and introduce it to their friends or parents.
